With my birthday only 3 weeks away, I've been thinking about what to buy myself, and top of the list is a Digital SLR camera. I think I've taken enough photos here to be able to say that photography is now a hobby, so I think it makes sense to get a 'proper' camera. As usual, my lack of patience got the better of me, so I've just ordered a Sony Alpha A200 DSLR from Amazon, together with a tripod and free carry case (for the tripod):

Choosing the Sony was a no-brainer as it got excellent reviews, and it will accept Mel's zoom lens from her old 35mm Minolta SLR. I went into Currys last week just so I could get my hands on one and see what it was like and I really liked it. It should be here on Tuesday or Wednesday. My trusty old Samsung L60 will still be my main camera out on the moor though.
